Committee Involvement & Professional Enrichment

As a member you are invited to participate in a Putnam County Chamber committee. Committee participation offers you and your employees the opportunity to become involved with the Putnam County Chamber and share your expertise with others:

Committees - Represent Chamber to Chamber members and community. The Ambassadors conduct retention visits with members and welcome new members.

- Make decisions regarding the menu, decorations, theme and speaker/entertainment for the Annual Dinner held in January.

Represents the Chamber at community events, Ribbon Cuttings, Ground Breaking Ceremonies and Grand Openings.

- Takes action to promote and advocate education and workforce issues in Putnam County and the region. High School Business Symposium, Partners in Education and Portfolio Fairs are many of this committee’s projects. Committee will meet second Wednesday of each month at Noon.

- Generation Putnam is dedicated to building a better Putnam County. Made up of motivated, energetic young professionals generally in their twenties, thirties, and early forties who are destined to become the area’s future leaders. Generation Putnam encourages members to get involved and make a difference by becoming active participants in the professional, civic and social aspects of our area.

- Plans annual golf tournament typically held in July. This tournament includes an 18-hole round of golf and contests for 4-person teams.

- Help recruit new members and determine benefits for the overall membership. Committee will meet second Monday of each month at 4:00 pm.

- Legislative and county issues. Recommends positions and actions to be taken by the Board of Directors. Meets only during Legislative Session or when issues dictate.

- Mission "To be a resource for women in the business community". Meets the third Thursday of every month at 8 AM at the Chamber.

- Seeks affordable insurance for small business owners.

- This nine-week course (meeting for nine weeks) held annually, beginning in April is intended to provide participants with a thorough understanding of county operations.  Classes meet on location with representatives from law enforcement, government, education, social service agencies, utility suppliers, health care providers, manufacturers and business people.  Participation is open to both Chamber and non-Chamber members. Highly recommended for civic-minded individuals interested in learning more about community assets and services.
