Congratulations to Primp Salon
Chamber Business of the Month for March!

Primp Salon

Owner Michelle Carver and her family moved from North Carolina in 2007, choosing Putnam County as their new home. Michelle began working at a local salon in the Valley and after only a year, had built a substantial client base. It was time to spread her wings and open Primp Salon. Michelle started preparing in April of 2009 for Primp to become a reality.  Grand Opening was on June 1, 2009; just 26 days after having her second daughter!

Michelle brings over 14 years of experience in the salon industry and has trained and worked at some of the best schools and salons that North Carolina had to offer.  She wanted to bring something different to the area. “I believe Teays Valley needed and up-scale, professional salon. Residents shouldn’t have to travel to Barboursville or Charleston to get quality service,” Michelle says. “I want to offer Putnam County and surrounding areas a welcoming, fun environment and where they can get quality services from experienced stylists.” Personalized consultations are always given to meet your individual needs.

Joining Michelle since opening is James “Jimbo” White. He brings 5 years experience to the salon. He has added education through Pravana Naturceuticals to his credentials. “I want to make sure you have the look you want and that you leave happy,” Jimbo states.  Jenn Schoolcraft is the newest addition to the salon. She began in September 2009 and adds spice to the salon. Her short style haircuts and colors are her trademark. “I feel I have a great talent to offer the Valley, that’s why I chose to work in an up and coming salon.” Jenn says. In the upcoming months, Michelle hopes to add more talent to her creative team, including massage therapy.

Primp Salon hopes to bring a little something different to the Valley.  By attending the latest classes available to the stylists, our goal is to keep Putnam County looking wonderful; even if this means traveling across the country to see how things are done on the West coast. This includes an upcoming Salon Education Class in Las Vegas, NV in October 2010. We hope to see you in the near future. If you haven’t found the personal touch you are looking for, or you are just ready to try something different, please give us a call at 304- 760- 8298. We will be more than happy to exceed your needs!
