sluss-septemberStephen C. Sluss, Attorney at Law is an elder law and estate planning attorney located in Hurricane. His practice focuses on helping families with wills, powers of attorney, deeds, trusts, estate planning, Medicaid asset protection planning and probate matters with an emphasis on assisting families with Medicaid and other long term care planning.

Sluss is a 1992 graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law. Prior to opening his own practice in 2014, he served as the in-house counsel to the Kanawha County Assessor. “After I left the County, I wanted to find a niche where I can truly help people” said Sluss. “Elder Law is sorely underrepresented in West Virginia, and yet with an aging population and a lot of misinformation about qualifying for Medicaid, it is greatly needed.”

Sluss is located at 421 Midland Trail across from the Hurricane Middle School. In addition to being a member of the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce, Sluss is also a member of the Putnam County Rotary, the Advantage Chapter of BNI in Teays Valley, ElderLaw Counsel, , and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA).
