Headquartered in Poca, Central Van Lines is proud to be celebrating its 25th year in business this year under the leadership of President Gene Papa II. Papa is a second-generation mover who worked for his family’s moving business until 1988 before starting his own company. A lifelong resident of West Virginia and graduate of WVU, he started Central Van in 1997. Dominic, Papa’s son, a graduate of Hurricane High School and West Virginia University, is now the General Manager of the Morgantown location.

An agent for Allied Van Lines since 1997, Central Van Lines specializes in household and commercial relocations. In 2021 Central Van moved over 3,500 families and businesses locally, long-distance, and internationally. The organization has grown from a 1,000 square foot warehouse with two trucks and four employees, to four full-service locations with over 60 trucks and more than 100 employees. Central Van & Storage is the largest moving and storage company in the state, with locations serving Charleston, Morgantown, Clarksburg, Parkersburg, Huntington, & Beckley. The company also has a facility in Pittsburgh, servicing Wheeling and points north.

Central Van Lines is proud to have completed more than 100 commercial moves over the years. Moves may range from smaller one crew/one-day moves to moves taking several weeks with multiple trucks with more than 30 movers per day. Central Van Lines is fortunate to have a large group of trained, dedicated employees, many of whom have been with the company for over 20 years. If that alone doesn’t speak volumes about this company, we don’t know what does!
