Position: Information & Events Specialist

SUMMARY:

This position represents the Chamber at all functions and assists in building member relations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Following is a list of primary duties and responsibilities which take up the majority of time on a daily basis.  The person must be able to perform the essential duties of the job. Reasonable accommodations will be made when possible.  This list is not all inclusive.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Maintaining a presence in the office, answering telephone, taking reservations, providing tours and providing assistance to walk-in guests.
  2. Assist with external communications for the Chamber including: communication via e-mail for all events, press releases, monthly newsletter and social media.
  3. Maintains website content for putnamchamber.org and www.area34coworking.com
  4. Maintains Chamber Master Database
  5. Assist in event planning and execution of all chamber related events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability (Core Competencies) required. 

Education:   

 4 Year Degree, Business, IT, or Public Relations, Communications/Journalism, Fields

Work Experience: 

  • Minimum of 1-2 years working in a business/office environment.
  • Experience should include proficiency in Website Design, Social Media, and Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word)

Core Competencies:                  

To perform the job successfully, the person should demonstrate the following competencies or skills:

  • Organizational Skills
  • Excellent Communication/Language Skills (verbal/written)
  • Interpersonal (must be able to work with the public, internal and external customers, agencies, etc. using diplomacy and tact).

  • Self-Motivated

Job Type: Full-time (35 hours per week)

Position: Finance Assistant

 SUMMARY:

This position provides administrative support to the PCCOC and assists in building member relations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Following is a list of primary duties and responsibilities which take up the majority of time on a daily basis.  The person must be able to perform the essential duties of the job. Reasonable accommodations will be made when possible.  This list is not all inclusive.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Accounts Payable
  2. Accounts Receivable
  3. Member RelationsAnswering phones, replying to emails from members. Taking care of correspondence, updating member status.
  4. Prepare and print monthly financial statements for the Board
  5. Maintaining Quick Books software (updating, posting, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS:

 The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability (Core Competencies) required. 

Education:  Bachelor’s (preferred)

Work Experience: 

  • Minimum of 1-2 years working in a business/office environment.
  • Experience should include proficiency in Quick Books and Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word)
