Another hot #PutnamWV week is winding down, and the weekend is finally here. Let’s find out what Putnam County has in store!
Time to get your thrift on! On Saturday, the City of Hurricane is hosting a City-Wide Yard Sale. Visit their Facebook for a full list of addresses and updates. Also, from 8am-1pm the Winfield High School Band Boosters are hosting a Huge Rummage Sale at Winfield High. Be sure to check out all the good deals while supporting your community!
The West Virginia Association of the Deaf (WVAD) Biennial Picnic is this Saturday from 11am until dark at the big shelter in Valley Park. There will be cash prizes and giveaways ($10 for 25 tickets). It is $20 per person and includes one meal and a door prize, $5 for children 6-18 years, and children under 5 are free. WVAD will provide meats and others attending can bring a covered dish or dessert. Follow their Facebook and check out their website for more information.
On Sunday from 11am-4pm, head over to the Eleanor Fire Department for a spaghetti dinner ($10 a plate) supporting Denys Pavlov and family. Denys Pavlov is a foreign exchange student from Ukraine and has been living with a host family in Eleanor for almost a year. Due to the war overseas still underway, Denys cannot go back home. His mother and grandmother will be joining him here in West Virginia. They will be accepting donations of cash, gift cards, toiletries and cleaning supplies. All proceeds will go to the family! To learn about Denys’s story and donation information visit the Facebook page.
This weekend is full of opportunities to explore and support the communities of Putnam County. Enjoy the sun and have fun!
