The leaves are beginning to change, and the county is starting to cool down. Fall is here in #PutnamWV! Let’s see what’s happening this weekend in Putnam County.
Enjoy Friday night lights throughout the county. Both Winfield High School and Poca High School have home games tonight, making for a perfect bundled-up evening watching your favorite local players on the field.
Cruise on over to Valley Park bright and early Saturday morning for the 7th Annual Dog Jog, one of Putnam County’s largest 5k’s! Proceeds from Dog Jog will cover the costs of spaying and neutering and help prepare dogs and kitties for adoption. Registrants can participate either in person (furry friends permitted) or virtually from the comfort of their own homes.
If your kiddos aren’t up for an 8:00 AM jog with the dog, pop by the Putnam Farmers Market for Kids Day!
After a busy morning, snag a bite to eat and rest up for a fun afternoon of activities at the 2022 Winfield Cruz at City Hall. From 1:00 PM til dark, enjoy a 50/50 drawing, door prizes, games, music, food trucks, and of course, plenty of cars and dragsters. Along with a model car contest and a pedal car display, dash plaques will be presented to the first 100 cars.
Sunday is the perfect day to embrace the first weekend of fall by visiting Gritt’s Fun Farm! Open 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, the farm is packed with unique activities to enjoy. Spookley The Square Pumpkin will be visiting three times throughout the day (11:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 3:30 PM), and Ryan Smith will be performing live on the guitar from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Sip on some Zul’s Frozen Lemonade, pick the biggest pumpkin, and have a wonderful fall day making memories. Get tickets for Gritt’s Fun Farm here.
This weekend is full of opportunities to experience fall in Putnam County. Make the most out of your weekend!
