Halloween is right around the corner, and #Putnam WV is ready with all the sweet treats and festivities. Let’s explore what’s happening this weekend in Putnam County!
Kick-off Friday with a competitive round of golf at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club (members only). With stunning fall foliage, plus beautiful weather, the 18-hole course is looking its best.
Not into real golf? Give frisbee golf a try at Eleanor Park. The Eleanor Park course has three distinct sections ranging from heavy woods to wide open holes, fostering the perfect place for leaf peeping.
Spend the night relaxing on the couch with a craft brew from Fruth Pharmacy in Scott Depot. Offering drinks in various flavors and styles, they have something unique and fun to sip on for anyone.
Visit Camp Appalachia on Saturday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM for CARES Spooktacular 2022 (RSVP Here). Guests may enjoy trunk-or-treat, hayrides, pumpkin decorating, costume contests, games, and treats in a sensory-friendly environment.
If that’s a little late for you, check out Belknap Dough Company’s Painting Event in Hurricane (Buy Tickets Here). Beginning at 1:00 PM Belknap is offering a Steam Punk Pumpkin Painting class instruction by Lisa Harrison, The Doodlin’ Roo, with pizza, a salad buffet, and unlimited fountain drinks or one alcoholic beverage.
On Sunday, the City of Hurricane is holding a Pumpkin Carving Contest at Hurricane City Park. From 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, 500 free pumpkins and free carving tools (while supplies last) will be available for public use. Feel free to bring your own supplies if you’d prefer.
The most creative pumpkins in four separate age categories will win a prize. While carving your pumpkin, enjoy live bluegrass music by local band, Southridge! If you get hungry after all the hard work carving pumpkins, head across the street to Whiskey Taco for some creamy queso.
No matter what you choose to do this weekend, make the most out of your weekend in Putnam County!
