It’s the weekend autumn-lovers look forward to all year long…it’s Gritt’s Fun Farm Opening Weekend and it starts Saturday! Gritt’s Fun Farm features more than 30 attractions and they have really outdone themselves this year with the addition of the Corn Barn! Remember the corn pit for little kids? Well to call this an upgrade is an understatement! Kids of all ages can now experience thousands of pounds of shelled corn in a 32×68’ pool located indoors with seating options so you can just hang out and watch in case playing in a giant pool of corn just isn’t your thing!
HOURS OF OPERATION for Gritt’s Fun Farm 2023 season are as follows:

Weekends 10:00am-7:00pm
Visit grittsfarm.com for ticket pricing and details.
If you’re waiting until a little later in the season to head out to Gritt’s, wear the kiddos out this weekend with other fun activities in Putnam County! The brand new Zoology Zone Science Center at Valley Park always has fun stuff going on, and Andy recently added some new activities. If you haven’t been to Zoology Zone, you need to check it out! Andy is a true lover of all things scaley and reptilian and is very passionate about teaching both children and adults about respecting nature. Saturday he will be hosting a lizard meet-and-greet, as well as taking us on an immersive hike on the Valley Park trails, and then in the evening will be hosting a massive snake and giant tortoise show. All of these activities are covered in the regular admission price. Visit the Zoology Zone Science Center page on Facebook for more details.
What else is going on this weekend? You can always head to Reed’s Entertainment for an afternoon or evening of putt-putt, or visit your favorite Putnam County park, boutique, or restaurants! Be sure to check out the Farmer’s Market this weekend, as they still have several weeks before the market closes at the end of October. It’s going to be sunny and not too hot so make it a great weekend, Putnam County!
