Heritage Company is a local business with a remarkable story of rapid growth and community support. Founded by Dru & Candice Morgan, what began as a hobby for this couple quickly grew into a thriving business. Dru is a lifelong woodworker, having moved to West Virginia from the Virginia/Tennessee region, and his mountain roots are apparent in his work. Candice is a native of Hurricane who runs the retail operation and her mother, Michelle, is a lifelong artist who does all the paintings, jewelry, and ceramics in the store. Dru and Candice live in Hurricane with their two daughters.
The business evolved mostly as a creative outlet for an artistic family. They invested in top-of-the-line laser technology and commercial woodworking equipment early on and from there, began participating in craft shows which eventually led to the exciting opportunity of opening a brick and mortar location in Hurricane in February of 2024. They have since added two valuable team member, Bailey and Emma, and look forward to increasing their staff even more as they continue to grow.
As a locally owned small business, Heritage Company is passionate about creating unique items that make meaningful gifts. In addition to their retail store, they work with realtors, closing agents and corporate partners for art projects and corporate gifting. When we asked Dru what the company loves about doing business in Putnam County, he said “our goal is to continue serving the community with high quality, customizable gifts that reflect the spirit of local craftsmanship. The support we’ve received from Putnam County and our loyal customers has been so valuable in our growth and we are deeply grateful for the continued encouragement and support. We also know the relationships we forge will only solidify as we continue doing business with our neighbors.
Dru and Candice are thankful to all their customers for being so supportive and to their teams’ hard work and pray for continued success going into 2025.
Stop in and see them!
