Growing up, Will Cragg spent a lot of time cutting firewood for his parents, rock climbing, and enjoying multiple adventure-type sports. As an adult, he took these activities he loved and was good at and built a business around them.
Will Cragg, owner of Cragg & Son Tree Company, has been an arborist for 15 years. He started out as a one man show with just himself and his pick-up truck, and now has seven full-time employees, plus a faithful black lab, Ryder, who works with him everyday and is a vital part of his crew.
This family-owned business located in Frazier’s Bottom began based on a very basic idea; work hard and stay humble. Cragg & Son is a disability-owned §5A-3-59 company specializing in removal of trees in a wide verity of locations including, but not limited to, residential and commercial properties. His crew utilizes rope rigging, directional felling, and equipment assisted removals that encompass one tree in a very dangerous setting or hundreds of trees in residential setting where low impact techniques are required. The company owns and maintains their equipment and utilizes leased equipment through contracts when specialty equipment is needed. They also offer herbicide spray for right-of-ways, parks and residential application.
Will and his wife moved to #PutnamWV eight years ago so their son could benefit from the fantastic school system here, plus they like the political climate of this area. Will is excited about the growth potential of Putnam County and enjoys being around like-minded individuals, as well as the local businesses and restaurants.
March is the perfect month for this business to be celebrated because Will’s four-legged co-worker Ryder turns 11 this month. Happy birthday, Ryder! Keep up the good work!
