Putnam CREW Young Leader Award

CRITERIA FOR COMMITTEE CONSIDERATION

1. Significant involvement in either community organization or county government.  A community organization need not be located or active solely in Putnam County to be weighed in the Committee’s deliberations.  However, if located or active outside Putnam County, the community organization’s activities within Putnam County must be significant or provide tangible contribution(s) to Putnam County directly or to other initiatives/efforts to improve Putnam County.
2. Significant involvement in professional/business group(s).  As with community organizations, a professional/business group need not be located or active solely in Putnam County to be weighed in the Committee’s deliberations.
3. Leadership in efforts to improve the quality of life or business climate in Putnam County.  This can manifest in a variety of ways. Actual leadership positions within community organizations, county government, or professional/business groups should be given appropriate consideration.  However, the Committee should equally consider the actions of young professionals regardless of any titled positions.  Leadership, particularly among young professionals, may come through notable involvement with county government without being an elected official, through local or state organizations related to the nominee’s business or profession, or even serving as an example of personal success in business/profession in the community.  Such conduct serves to inspire initiative and the involvement of others and should be given due consideration.
