Seeing as it’s National Biscuit Month, be sure to Start Your September Days the Homemade Way!
Tudor’s Biscuit World was founded by Bill and Mae Tudor, who a couple of years later were joined in the business by their son John. The first Tudor’s was opened on Washington Street in Charleston in 1980. After that, they opened more restaurants in Charleston and Huntington and began selling franchises. In 1986, after Bill Tudor’s death, Mae and John partnered with Oshel Craigo to further develop the franchise.
In 2024, the Mountaineer biscuit was voted on and crowned The Best Biscuit in the South by Garden & Gun. In case you haven’t ever had the pleasure of a Mountaineer breakfast sandwich, it is a perfectly baked buttermilk biscuit piled high with country ham, potato, egg, and cheese.
Tudor’s has three new flavors of BBQ sauce, including bold honey sriracha, which is just the right amount of kick and paired with a sweet honey finish. Spicy not your thing? It’s all good! They also offer sweet teriyaki, Carolina Gold, and their old faithful classic BBQ sauce. But don’t wait! The three new flavors are only available for a limited time! Tudor’s also bakes to-die for double chocolate chip muffins and brews fresh sweet & unsweet iced tea, both daily!
