It’s a weekend of parades in Putnam County and it begins this evening in Eleanor! The Christmas parade participants will be lining up this evening at 6:30pm at the Eleanor Industrial Park and the parade begins there at 7:00.

Then Saturday is the City of Winfield’s Christmas Parade and they are hoping to have every sports organization, church, and community organization represented in the parade!  Participants will begin lining up at 5:00pm, which is when the judging will take place for the best float; then the parade will begin at 6:00pm. Santa will be at the Winfield Community Center after the parade for visits and photos. Come out for the fun Saturday evening!

Also on Saturday, there will be free horse and carriage rides on Main Street in Hurricane from 4:00-7:00pm! The rides are first-come/first-served and while you’re waiting your turn, you can enjoy some free hot chocolate that will be served out of the Area 34 mobile trailer. The carriage rides will begin in the parking lot of Putnam County Bank on Main Street. Be sure to check out all the snowmen on Main Street while you’re down there and to vote for your very favorite one using the ballot box in the gazebo. You have until Monday, December 18th to vote!

Don’t want to pay to watch your favorite family Christmas movies? The Main Branch of the library has got you covered! Putnam County Library’s Saturday Morning Movies at Main are feeling festive in December, and this Saturday’s movie will be Home Alone. It begins at 10:00am.

Valley Park will be hosting a Christmas ornament exchange in the Conference Center Sunday from 5:00-7:00pm and would love for you to join them for this fun event! ???? Please bring two individually wrapped Christmas ornaments for the exchange. Handmade is encouraged, but they can be store bought. There is no fee to participate in the event. We hope to begin a new yearly tradition and want to invite you to join us!
