There are some great outdoor activities happening this weekend in #PutnamWV for sure! Check it out!
Friday is the very last Food Truck Friday, sponsored by the City of Hurricane, of 2024! In case you haven’t been this season, Food Truck Friday is now located at Hurricane City Park. Stop by for lunch anytime between 11-2:00. Friday’s line-up is Pour Man’s BBQ, The Rolling Stoves, and dessert from Edible Arrangements. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the end of your work week! Grab it and go or hang out and eat at the park!
Then Saturday is Kids’ Day at the Putnam Farmer’s Market and it’s finally the time in the season for FRESH CORN to be available! Children will receive two $2 tokens for Kid’s Day to spend at the market as they please. Please come support these local farmers, vendors, and artisans on Saturday in the field beside Area 34 between 9:00am-1:00pm.
Everybody loves a yard sale! Especially when proceeds go towards a great cause, and these will be going towards new materials for the Putnam County Library. The wonderful folks at the library have been doing some summer cleaning and will be clearing out some much-loved items and books to make room for new magic in the library. Our discards can be your treasure! Stop by the Main Library on Saturday between 9am-2pm for the second annual Books, Bakes, and Bargains sale! Proceeds from this event will be geared toward future library programming. If you’d like to donate anything for our sale (yard sale items, books in good condition, or individually packaged treats), please email Friends@PutnamLibraryWV.org and we’ll take the goodies off your hands. Cash only the day of the sale!
Rolling into Saturday evening, Shakespeare in the Park is happening at Valley Park at 7:00pm. This performance is a FREE event of Shakespeare’s The Tempest and if you’ve never been, you are really missing out on a wonderful evening! The performance will be located at the large shelter (weather permitting), or inside the conference center in case of inclement weather.
Make it a great weekend, Putnam County!
