It’s the weekend, #PutnamWV, and there’s so much happening right here close to home!
Yet another new business is joining the Putnam County family, and we can’t wait to celebrate with them on Friday! Join us in Poca to celebrate LulaBelle’s Boutique & Beauty Bar as we cut the ribbon on this brand new #PutnamWV business. Lulabelle’s offers dresses for all your prom/formal needs, plus jewelry and beauty bar services. While you’re in Poca, plan to stop at Valley Cakes & Café for lunch!
The end of the 2024 season of the Putnam Farmers Market will sadly be here in just a month and a half, but you’ll be able to look forward to the once monthly indoor market at Area 34 all winter long! With over 20 vendors and artisans, the market offers freshly grown seasonal produce, jams, honey, maple syrup, soap, locally roasted coffee, and so much more! See you Saturday in the field between the Arby’s/Exxon and Billy Sunday’s and across from the Main Branch of the Putnam County Library. The market runs every Saturday through the end of September from 9:00am-1:00pm.
Speaking of the Main Branch of the library, Saturday morning continues the Putnam County Master Gardner’s Summer Gardening Series, where the group will be making jams and jellies! This class is FREE and runs from 10:00am-11:30am. Everyone is welcome. Plan to be part of this fun event right before or after you visit the Farmer’s Market!
Bring your kiddos out for the 29th Annual Putnam County Gun Club Youth Day on Saturday!! This event runs 9:00am-3:00pm and there will be a variety of awesome events to participate in for all ages and prize drawings throughout the event. Concessions will be available for purchase and the best part is that admission is FREE to anyone under 18. To keep the event safe for all the kids on property, we do require that folks park at the Eleanor Park and shuttle in. We will have three shuttle vans running all day. Just show up and register! Kids will get their drawing ticket and a free t-shirt (while supplies last). They will then attend a brief safety orientation and then are free to participate in any event (some age restrictions apply). This is usually a huge event with lots of participation from the club, sponsors and volunteers. Please visit Putnamcountygunclub.com for more information.
Have documents you need to safely dispose of? Bring them on over to Putnam County Bank’s Shred Day at the Hurricane Creek Branch 10:00am-2:00pm Saturday for secure shredding that will protect your personal information. This event is free and open to everyone!
Make it a great weekend, Putnam County!
