Yard Sale lovers; Saturday is your day to shine!  Plan your own sale or get ready to bargain hunt at this HUGE city-wide event. Visit the City of Hurricane Facebook page in the comment section of the Citywide Yard Sale post to find information about neighborhood sales and items they’ll be selling so you can come up with a plan of attack to maximize your day!

The Zoology Zone has a brand new little bundle of joy they want to share with the reptile lovers of #PutnamWV. They’re celebrating their new baby gator with FREE admission all day Friday. All you need for free admission is to bring a baby item donation that will be donated to benefit Lily’s Place in Huntington, a facility that treats babies born with substance addiction issues. Special meet & greets with the gator will be held at 3:00 and 5:00pm. Suggested donation items are diapers, wipes, baby toys, baby soap, and any other practical baby item.

The sprayground at Hurricane City Park will be open through Labor Day weekend and this weekend is going to be gorgeous, so go take advantage of this free activity before it closes for the summer! Be sure to bring your driver’s license for proof of Putnam County residency.

Don’t miss your Saturday morning stop at the Putnam Farmer’s Market to grab your fresh goodies for the week! The Farmer’s Market will run through the end of December and is now located in the Area 34 parking lot, where it will be for the remainder of the season. Saturday is also Book Lovers Day, so make the trip across the street to grab a few books after you leave the market.
