This event is always a hit! Master Gardener Kathy Talley will be teaching how to preserve the best of the season with jams & jellies made with the last fruits of summer! Watch the demo and taste a sample on Saturday at 11am at the Main Branch of the Putnam County Library. Also happening at the library Saturday morning is the Morning Movie at Main, featuring Matilda! The movie starts at 10am, so if you’re looking for a perfect lazy Saturday morning activity with the kiddos, that’s it!

Directly across the street from the library is the Putnam Farmer’s Market to stock up on your weekly garden veggies, baked goods, and find what other goods the market is offering this week! The market runs 9:00-1:00 in the Area 34 parking lot, between the Holiday Inn Express and the Arby’s/Exxon. While you’re there, be sure to stop into Putnam Provisions inside Area 34 for some avocado toast and your favorite coffee or tea!

The City of Nitro will be rocking out all day at Boomtown Day, which will run Saturday from 10am-6pm at Living Memorial Park. The parade will kick it off, beginning at 10:00 and will be followed by a day of food and craft vendors, live music, and kids’ zone! You will also be able to enjoy the antique car show, going on all day. The Zoology Zone will be making a debut at the event this year, so be sure to take the family and check out all the fun Saturday in Nitro!
