The mission of Little Victories Animal Rescue is to provide homeless animals the means to which they can be rehabilitated and find permanent, loving homes. Little Victories spreads the no-kill philosophy and educates the public about humane care and respect for all living things, and that each animal should be treated for its individual needs; deserving every chance of living a loving and protected life. Since not all animals are immediately adoptable, Little Victories provides sanctuary where the animals will be safe and loved as long as it takes, even if it takes a lifetime.

Although they have an amazing network of kind-hearted people who are dedicated to helping precious animals, they know they can’t save them all, therefore they do what they can, one Little Victory at a time. What are the volunteer opportunities at Little Victories? They are absolutely endless! They’re always accepting volunteers to spend time with their dogs and cats, help clean, and take dogs out for the day. They are also looking for animal lovers to help with fundraisers, transporting to the vet or to adoption events, and to work at information booths. You can also support Little Victories by joining the Lifesaver League, their monthly giving program. In speaking with Little Victories Executive Director, Stephanie, we learned the facility receives no government funding and she is responsible for generating what averages to be $1,800 a day to keep things going. This is why community support is so important!

Make a note to check in with Little Victories later this year about signing up for their Annual Turkey Trot, a 5K that takes place on Thanksgiving morning at Ritter Park in Huntington. All proceeds from this run/walk benefit Little Victories Animal Rescue Group. This event is HUGE and attracts participants from all over the country and even internationally! They are thrilled to be celebrating the races’ 20^th Anniversary this year.

When can you stop into Little Victories? By appointment only Monday through Wednesday, and walk-ins are welcome 10am to 4pm Thursday through Sunday.
