This is Randolph Engineering’s 45th year in business, and June is the month Roger Randolph would have turned 77 years old.  This coming weekend is also when the Randolph family will be holding the Celebrating of Life for Roger here in West Virginia.  The Chamber is proud and honored to celebrate this successful company filled with wonderful people as our June Business of the Month.

Randolph Engineering began in the basement of the home where Roger and Grace Randolph lived in 1976.  Roger, at the time, was taking on surveying projects ranging in size from farm surveys to commercial sites.  Grace served as his assistant, keeping him scheduled and accounted, making sure he charged his clients for the work he provided them.  Roger and Grace went into this partnership agreeing that she wouldn’t tell him how to engineer and he wouldn’t tell her how to keep the books…and it worked!  Over the course of the last 45 years, Randolph Engineering has steadily grown a talented and diverse staff in Putnam County where they provide all manner of civil engineering and surveying offerings, utilizing cutting edge techniques to clients in their multi-state region.

Moving into their current location in Scott Depot three years ago was a hugely rewarding undertaking for the company, as it was a substantial remodel. They are used to working with clients and helping others’ take on projects of this nature, but to have the opportunity to do it for themselves, with the space providing the company ample room to grow, made it an especially worthwhile challenge.

The Randolphs feel fortunate and blessed to live, grow their families, and operate their business within the many communities that make up Putnam County.  Over Roger’s career, he committed his extensive knowledge and seemingly boundless energy to the growth and prosperity of the many communities and clients he served on a daily basis.  His son Aaron stresses how grateful Roger was for being afforded the opportunity to work with the talented staff he employed in a place he so deeply loved, and to make positive contributions to the community and its citizens.  Today, the staff at Randolph Engineering continues to honor his commitment to the health and prosperity of the residents of this great county and look forward to contributing to its continued growth.
