In case you haven’t yet been to Sweet Mama’s Bakery, it’s located in Mid-Valley Square across from Hurricane City Park. Ryan Grubbs and her husband Tommy run the bakery and just couldn’t be more welcoming to everyone who walks in the door.

How did Sweet Mama’s come to be? Well, it was kind of on a whim actually. Ryan Grubbs mother had a bakery downtown years ago and after she closed, Ryan continued baking on the side.  Then about five years ago, Ryan begged her husband to let her open a storefront.  They searched all over for the perfect location and one night when they were having dinner at Mountain Pie, they saw an empty available spot.  They talked to the Meeks about renting it and voila!  Here they are almost four years later.

Ryan and Tommy absolutely love Putnam County. She said, “The Chamber has been amazing and during Covid, they really helped encourage people to support local businesses. Additionally, the community has been amazing in the support we get each day.” Doing business in Putnam County and having ties here has been a blessing to the Grubbs family, their children, and their business.
