The Putnam County Library is continuing to celebrate STEMuary TODAY, Tuesday the 23rd.at 3:30pm.  Their friends from WVSU Extension will be explaining the science behind the process of making maple syrup, and letting attendees taste some samples during this sticky STEM event! Come to the Main Library today and you may even get to taste a sample! All ages welcome and encouraged!

Zoology Zone at Valley Park is hip-hopping this week as always! Bring your little one out for the Junior Explorers Adventures happening Wednesday morning, plus tons of art and science events happening the rest of the week all the way through Sunday!

We simply can’t wait to see everyone who registered for the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner Meeting & Celebration on Friday! This promises to be an unforgettable evening with an ICE-themed twist! Don’t forget to dress to impress in your most frost-tacular attire—icy blues, shimmering whites, and silver sparkles!  Be ready to break the ice with a night filled with networking, exquisite cuisine, and frosty-fun surprises!  Connect with fellow business leaders and celebrate the successes that make our community shine. Presentation of the Mayo Lester Community Service Award and the Putnam County Young Leader Award will be given.

ZoneOut Sports, located on Morris Court in Hurricane (just off Main Street), is continuing their FREE open gym for 1st-5th graders. This is open to ALL Putnam County residents!  Parents/guardians get in free too and are encouraged to play with their kids. This program is open to all skill levels, whether your child has never touched a basketball before or he/she just wants to get in some extra practice for the season. We just love this effort to help keep kids active through the colder months of the year! It happens every Saturday from 9:00 – 11:00 through the end of February and is sponsored by the City of Hurricane!

The Winfield High School Show Choirs are hosting the Emerald Classic, taking place at Winfield High School Saturday. This is an all-day event and competition that even if you don’t have a loved one participating, is just too much fun to go and watch!
