Start your Friday morning out on the right foot by joining The Putnam CREW(Community, Relationships, Empower, Workforce) at 8am for their monthly meetup, Toast!, at Area 34/Putnam Provisions for coffee and networking. The Putnam CREW is a group of professionals dedicated to attracting, retaining, and advancing people in our community.  All are welcome!

Then on Saturday, enjoy a fun-filled day at Buffalo Octoberfest with FREE family fun for all ages to enjoy! This is one of the last fall festivals of the season and is packed full of activities such as arts and crafts, a flea market, homemade food, music, apple butter making, antiques, petting zoo, inflatables, and pony rides! There will be a $5 voucher awarded for any kids wearing costumes.  If you’re interested in being a vendor or crafter for the event, call 304-937-2747.  Booth space rental is only $10.

If watching scary movies in the dark is outside of your little one’s comfort zone, the Putnam County Library has a perfect morning planned for you!  Join the awesome staff at the library for a semi-scary Saturday Morning Movie at the Main Branch beginning at 10am. All of the thrills, none of the chills!  This week’s movie is Clue (PG).

Whether you’re looking for a great Halloween activity or an awesome volunteer opportunity this weekend, come out to Camp Appalachia Saturday evening to enjoy trunk-or-treat, games & treats in a sensory-friendly environment. Community Autism Resources & Education Systems is excited to be creating a night full of fun and connection that makes Spooky Season our favorite time of year. Join the fun at Valley Park for Putnam County’s Largest Halloween Party, The Monster Ball!  That’s right, it’s finally here!  There will be live entertainment by Hair Supply, costume contests, appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages included in the ticket price, plus a cash bar will be available!  Tickets: Individual – $65, Couple – $120. Must be 21 to attend.

Moving into Sunday, John Botes will be presenting An Organ Extravaganza at Forrest Burdette United Methodist Church in Hurricane at 3:00pm. You do not want to miss this artist of the 2023 Pipesounds Concert Series that will be sure to give you goosebumps!  Admission is $15 and students are FREE. And last but certainly not least, it’s once again time for the City of Hurricane’s Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest! There will be 500 free pumpkins, carving tools(while supplies last), live music, and free hot chocolate beginning at 3:00 pm at Hurricane City Park.  Judging will begin at 4:45pm and prizes will be awarded.
