There’s lots of awesome stuff going on in Putnam County this weekend!

First, what better way to wind down after a long week than a relaxing movie night with the family? Eva’s, a family-owned and operated restaurant located at 3225 Charleston Road in Poca, will be hosting a Movie Night Event on Friday night starting at 8 pm. The movie is yet to be decided but will be a fun one the whole family will enjoy. No charge! Just bring your own blanket and/or chairs and find your spot in the gravel parking lot. Eva’s will be selling a movie night combo for $5 that will include a hotdog, chips, and a fountain drink.

Then on Saturday, The Putnam Animal Shelter meets The Foam Garage! 🐈 🐕 🫧

Bring the family to this FREE event and come play in the foam with the dogs!

Most importantly though, this gives your family an opportunity to interact with the animals and potentially bring a new forever fur baby home…and guess what else?! Putnam Animal Shelter is waiving the adoption fees from 1-3 PM!!! 🎉🎉 Be sure to bring a towel and a change of clothes, because you will get wet, but don’t worry! The foam is hypoallergenic and non-toxic, making this event safe and fun for all!
Also on Saturday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, the local farmers and artisans of The Putnam Farmer’s Market will be in the field beside the Exxon/Arby’s off the Teays Valley exit and across from the main branch of the library selling all their homemade and homegrown goods! Be sure to stop out!
Everyone loves live music! Join us at Valley Park for the 2nd Annual Pickin’ in the Park Bluegrass Festival Saturday from 11 am – 5 pm. There will be a stage set up in the lower field near the large shelter. Please bring a blanket or chair and enjoy a day filled with local bluegrass music, clogging, demonstrations by local artisans and tradesmen, and food trucks!
